Meeting Schedule Details
Frequency: Most Probus clubs hold regular monthly meetings.
Local Example: For instance, the Probus Club of Saskatoon meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 9:30 AM, except during July and August.
We usually meet for two hours each month, starting with time to catch up and socialize before moving into club business and a presentation from our guest speaker.
Breaks: Many clubs take a break or suspend regular meetings during the summer months of July and August
Activities: Between the main monthly meetings, individual interest groups (such as walking, bowling, book clubs, or card games, etc.) may meet more frequently - weekly, biweekly, monthly etc depending on the group..
Activity & Interest Groups: Organized independently and dynamically by members between the formal monthly meetings.
Frequency: Meeting times for specific activities (such as walking, bowling, book discussions, cards, and golf) are decided upon and coordinated directly by the participants of each individual interest group rather than following a single fixed club-wide schedule.
Following each monthly meeting, the activities are updated in the online Calendar. here are also special events that take place from time to time. See our website under Events for further details. That being said, the places of the activities are not posted online. The activity groups post the complete registration at each monthly meeting, look at the activity group details in the membership monthly newsletters and members can reach out to the activity coordinators or convenors through the newsletter or roster.
Participation in meetings and activities is entirely optional. You are free to choose your own level of involvement. While nothing is mandatory, we warmly encourage members to join in on events and meetings whenever their schedule allows.
